The Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet was established in 1911 and has a proud history of providing dedicated support to successive Australian Governments.

Its mission is to contribute to the good governance of Australia by supporting the Prime Minister and the Cabinet in the effective development and delivery of policy across the whole-of-government.

In assisting the Government to deliver its long-term policy agenda, public policy professionals strive to provide the best strategic advice, promote cooperation across the Commonwealth, state and territory governments, support and monitor the delivery of key government programs and provide high level support for official visits, ceremonies, state occasions and major events.
